Description

Statistical data of Ditjen PP and PL of Disease Control and Environmental Health Ministry of Health stated that HIV / AIDS cases in Indonesia until March 2016 reached 276.511 patients, and 11.4% were recorded in East Java. People living with HIV and AIDS (PLWHA) are often exposed to hepatitis virus which are about one-third have infectious diseases along with HBV or HCV, and it causes death in long term. This study aimed to examine the relationship between sex with the incidence of HBV and HCV infection in PLWHA. This study used cross sectional design with a total sample of 81 PLWHA who tested HIV in Laboratory of Gambiran General Hospital Kediri. The result showed that there is no correlation between sex with the insidence of HBV and HCV in PLWHA.
