Description
Red Turi Leaf (Sesbania grandiflora L. Pers) is one of the plants that can be used as an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer, antidiabetic and antioxidant. This study aims to determine the secondary metabolite content in the organ part of red turi leaf extract (Sesbania grandiflora L. Pers). Extraction was performed using maceration method with methanol solvent, concentrated and then phytochemical screening was tested and obtained the results of flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins and tannins. Antibacterial activity was tested using well diffusion method with 6 treatment groups (K + / ciprofloxacin, K-, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%) against pathogenic bacteria with the results of the average antibacterial activity with a concentration of 25% was 13.6 mm, 50% is 16.7 mm, 75% is 16.5 mm, 100% is 17.2 mm. Extracts that provide the most potential activity to inhibit Staphylococcus aureus are 100% concentration with a mean inhibition zone of 17.2 mm.
